Singapore Garden Festival 2010, the Bi-annual Garden Festival in Singapore's Suntec City Convention Center! This time, i took this opportunity to test out my DSLR with taking pictures of Nature. At this event, I aimed to capture close-up photos of different types of flowers, different views of the Floral Displays, and playing of the camera functions to capture different effects of the Display.

A Silver Prized Award Display by Naval Base Secondary School
An artistic way of making a decoration for the Garden Festival. Its really stunning to see how artists can make use of the available flowers to bundle up a huge display of the flowers.

A Green Castle, which made use of modern decorations and equipment of a 'Dream Castle', fused with nature
Bonsai! Attempted to take a picture like those 'heavenly' scene with a Thousand Years Tree, found in Chinese Fantasy Stories
A Bonsai which resembles the look of Whomping Willow from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Look as though the man behind is admiring the 'tree' from under the Bonsai
A really interesting way to 'shape' the Bonsai, into the that of Chinese Characters

A front view of an art piece using flowers. It looks like a fireworks from the front, showing that the individuals are fighting their way to reach their destination first
The side view of the art piece looks like overlapping waves, which is always moving forward. |

A close-up on the flowers that the artist used in his art piece
An interesting 3D portray of a night sky, which shows all four seasons of nature
An attempt to play with shuttle speed, to capture individual drops of water being pumped out in the display. Its a bit dark though
Another effect of shuttle speed, to show streams of water. The longer shuttle speed caused more light to enter the lens, into the sensor, causing the picture to be brighter
A unique way of fusing nature with technology
A larger view of the Fusion work piece
A modern or future way of growing plants

Another attempt to play with shuttle speed to capture different effects of streaming water.

Flash was used as the initial attempt turned out to be a pitch dark picture. Due to lack of experience, I did not know the appropriate way of capturing. So, the thought of using flash came to my mind. It did the job, but the picture is not up to standard
